Webisode VIII: Crate Cartel (verse)

While looking for the latest Pitbull release in Obese Records, I run into one of the country’s strongest collectives, Crate Cartel – a crew of producers, MCs, visual artists and pick-pocketers. Check out Maundz, Geko, Discourse, Fluent Form, AETCIX and Raven do what they do to make them a well-respected clique in Melbourne and the rest of Australia.

Webisode VII: Trials of Funkoars (verse)

Looking for something fresh to wear, I help my self to the Golden Era Records merchandise room to bump into the freakishly talented Trials of the mighty Funkoars. Shit, might as well get him to kick a little somethin’ somethin’.

Webisode VI: Oddisee

Producers, have you ever thought, “man, this is a good song. But If I could re-produce it, I reckon I could’ve freaked it a bit better”? That’s the question I ask American producer/ MC, Oddisee. Check out the three tracks he would chose to add that special touch to.

Webisode V: Sarah Connor (verse)

Trying to hook up a late night meal, I run into up & coming Sydneysider Sarah Connor rustling up some tasty rhymes (with a bit of kick). On a serious note, I’m not one to separate MCs into male and female… stuff that. If you’re a good MC, you’re a good MC. Full stop.

Webisode IV: MoneyKat (verse)

While I go sip cappuccinos and take in Melbourne’s cultural offerings, Hauie TV catches up with Omar Musa and Mighty Joe of MoneyKat trading bars. Their debut self-titled album is out now. If you dig this, you’re going to love that.

Webisode I: Hilltop Hoods

Well, here it is. The first webisode of Hauie TV featuring the mighty Hilltop Hoods. The guys are releasing their sixth album this week, so I thought it would be great to catch up with them and see how they’re feeling about it all. We talk about working with Adelaide producer, One Above, early local inspiration, and the importance of ‘haters’.

Drinking From the Sun out March 9 through Golden Era Records.
